Assessments made easier - for parents and professionals

The Assessment Cards are 37 large cards with pictures and questions to help both parents and professionals complete any assessment based on the Framework for Assessment of Children in Need and their Families.

Doing assessments can be hard - both for parents and professionals. What should I ask? Am I covering what I should? What does "identity" really mean? How can I make assessments easier for a parent who may be anxious or have a special need? The Assessment Cards have been designed to make all this much easier. They guide you through each part of the Assessment Framework. The front of the cards rename each area into something easier to understand - for example, "identity" becomes "feeling loved and accepted", and pictures are included to illustrate what you need to cover. The official guidance for each section is broken down into easier to understand questions on the back. You can use the cards when asking questions, or to help you know what to include when writing up. There's also a bonus set of cards to help you explore a parent's life story and experiences, and cards to help make your assessment more interactive.
